A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a Mercedes-Benz SUV on Winchester Road, just south of Skyview Road in French Valley, Riverside County, on Monday night, February 24, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 9:23 p.m. when a 31-year-old man from Moreno Valley was walking within the northbound #1 lane of Winchester Road.
The pedestrian was struck by a Mercedes-Benz SUV driven by a 41-year-old man, also from Moreno Valley, who did not see him in the lane.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
The driver sustained minor injuries and remained at the scene. Authorities stated that DUI is not suspected.
No arrests have been made. CHP officers are investigating the cause of the crash.
