A male juvenile was fatally injured after being ejected in a fatal crash at Highway 33, north of Clarkson Avenue in Fresno County, on Sunday afternoon, February 23, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just before 1:40 p.m. when the juvenile, identified as a male from Mendota, was driving a 2021 Tesla when the vehicle partially veered into the southbound lane., resulting in a head-on collision with a Freightliner that was also traveling on the same road.
The Tesla continued northeast as it came to rest within an agricultural field east of Highway 33. The driver of the Freightliner received treatment on the scene for minor injuries he sustained.
Investigators report neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected to be a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
