A pedestrian was fatally struck, and a motorist was hospitalized following a crash on the Harbor (110) Freeway in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday morning, February 1, 2025.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the incident occurred at approximately 6:34 a.m. on the southbound freeway near West Third Street. Emergency responders arrived to find a man, approximately 40 years old, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 47-year-old male driver was transported to a hospital in fair condition, while a 23-year-old man, possibly a passenger in the vehicle, declined medical transport.

Authorities issued a Sigalert at 6:50 a.m., shutting down the southbound lanes of the freeway for an unspecified duration.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
