A pedestrian was struck and killed by multiple vehicles in a hit-and-run collision late Wednesday night, January 29, 2025, in the South Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. at 4520 S. Central Avenue and East 46th Street.
Authorities said at least three vehicles heading north on Central Avenue at high rates of speed hit the pedestrian, who was reportedly walking in the roadway at the time of the crash.
The driver of the second vehicle stopped and attempted to render aid, but the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two vehicles involved fled without stopping, and police have not released descriptions of the fleeing vehicles.
The LAPD is investigating the collision and urging anyone with information to come forward.
