A man was killed after a two-vehicle collision involving a big rig in Fresno County on Thursday afternoon, January 16, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Cedar and South Avenues.
Authorities reported that the driver of a pickup truck pulled out from a stop sign into the path of an oncoming semi-truck that had the right of way. The semi-truck was unable to avoid the pickup, resulting in a collision that pushed the pickup into a nearby vineyard.
The driver of the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene. The big rig veered off the road and ended up in the front yard of a nearby house. The semi-truck driver was not injured.
The investigation is ongoing.
