[07-09-2024] Driver Suffered Major Injuries Following Semi-Truck Vs. Vehicle Collision Along North AvenueA driver suffered major injuries following a semi-truck vs. vehicle collision in Fresno County on Tuesday morning, July 9, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened on North Avenue and Dickenson Avenue intersect. 

Officers responded to a crash involving a big rig with a 50-foot trailer and a sedan. Reports showed that the big rig was approaching the intersection when its driver failed to stop at the stop sign. 

As a result, the big rig collided with a Nissan that was crossing the intersection, pushing it into the canal. The Nissan driver, whose name, age, and gender were not revealed, was transported to a hospital with major injuries. Meanwhile, the truck driver was uninjured.

Crews were also dispatched to the scene to clean up hazardous material spills. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible. 

Drugs and alcohol do not appear as factors in the collision.

CHP is still investigating the incident.
