[06-26-2024] Fresno County, CA – One Person Killed, Another Injured After Two-Vehicle Collision Along Shaw Avenue

[06-26-2024] One Person Killed, Another Injured After Two-Vehicle Collision Along Shaw AvenueOne person was killed, while another was injured after a two-vehicle collision just outside Fresno on Wednesday morning, June 26, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened around 4:10 a.m. at the Chateau Fresno Avenue and Shaw Avenue intersection.

Initial investigations suggest that a man driving a 2006 Hyundai Tucson westbound on Shaw Avenue crossed over into the eastbound lane for reasons that are still unknown. Soon enough, his vehicle crashed into an oncoming 2020 Chevrolet Silverado that may or may not have seen the Hyundai in time to avoid it.

Upon arrival, CHP officers found the two vehicles with significant front-end damage, indicating a head-on collision. The driver of the Hyundai was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the Chevy complained of back pain and was sent to the hospital for treatment.

Both parties’ names, ages, and places of origin haven’t been disclosed as of yet.

The cause of the deadly accident is still under investigation. As of now, CHP is ruling out drugs or alcohol as possible factors.

Shaw Avenue was blocked from Chateau Fresno to Monroe Avenue as a precaution.

Additional information was not available at this time.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
