INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT?

[06-09-2024] Contra Costa County, CA – Woman Seriously Injured After Two-Vehicle Hit-And-Run Collision on I-680

A woman was seriously injured after a two-vehicle hit-and-run collision in Concord on Sunday afternoon, June 9, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 2:07 p.m. on I-680 southbound south of Willow Pass Road near Pleasant Hill. 

Authorities stated that a gray Acura was driving at a high speed and weaving in and out of lanes when it lost control and collided with another car. The woman who was driving the other car suffered major injuries and was transported to the hospital. Her name, age, and place of origin were not disclosed.

Police said that the driver of the Acura fled the scene on foot and was spotted going south towards the Homewood Suites in Pleasant Hill. Additional details on the identity of the suspect were not immediately known. It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. 

The accident remains under investigation. No further information has been released as of this writing.
