[07-01-2026] Fresno County, CA – Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle Near Highway 99

A man died after being struck by a vehicle near the Highway 99 off-ramp at Olive Avenue in Fresno on Wednesday night, July 1, 2026.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the incident occurred just before 10 p.m. at a crosswalk at Olive Avenue and the Highway 99 exit.

Authorities said the driver was exiting Highway 99 and turning onto Olive Avenue when the pedestrian was struck in the crosswalk.

The pedestrian was conscious and breathing when emergency crews arrived and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center. He later died from his injuries. His identity has not been released.

Officials said the driver remained at the scene, is cooperating with investigators, and no signs of criminal activity or alcohol involvement are suspected.

The Fresno Police Department is continuing to investigate the fatal incident.
