[05-13-2026] Fresno County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle on Highway 41 South of Jensen Ave.

A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle on Highway 41 in Fresno County early Wednesday morning, May 13, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded at around 1 a.m. on southbound Highway 41 south of Jensen Avenue.

Authorities stated that an 83-year-old man driving a 2017 Hyundai Tucson in the number one lane struck a pedestrian who entered the roadway from the west shoulder and walked eastbound directly into the vehicle’s path.

Officials said the driver was unable to stop before striking the pedestrian. The impact threw the victim into the center median, where he sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the pedestrian has not yet been released.

The Hyundai driver was not injured, remained at the scene, and cooperated with investigators. Authorities also stated that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The incident remains under investigation.
