[04-29-2026] Riverside County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle in Palm Springs

A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Palm Springs on Wednesday night, April 29, 2026.

According to the Palm Springs Police Department, the incident was reported around 8:18 p.m. at the intersection of East Palm Canyon Drive and Cherokee Way. 

The pedestrian, a man whose name has not been released, was in the east crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle traveling eastbound on East Palm Canyon Drive.

Investigators believe the vehicle had the right of way due to a green light. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
