A woman was declared dead at the scene of a crash involving a trailer on State Route 14 in Los Angeles County on Wednesday morning, February 18, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash was reported at around 11:50 a.m. on the northbound side of SR-14, just north of Newhall Avenue and Interstate 5.
The woman, believed to be in her 30s, was the sole occupant of a blue Toyota Corolla when, for reasons still under investigation, the car became wedged under a truck-tractor combination trailer. The driver of the trailer was unharmed.
Los Angeles County Fire Department officials confirmed that first responders arrived and declared the woman dead at the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation, with authorities working to determine if alcohol or drugs played a role.
The woman’s identity is pending release, as the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner awaits notification of next of kin.
