A driver was seriously injured after a vehicle crashed into a light pole and caught fire in Seal Beach, Orange County, early Saturday morning, January 24, 2026.
According to the Seal Beach Police Department, the crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Westminster between Bolsa Chica and Seal Beach boulevards.
Authorities said the vehicle struck a light pole and became engulfed in flames. The driver was pulled from the burning vehicle and found approximately 50 feet away with severe injuries. First responders transported the man to a hospital for treatment.
Police conducted a search of the area, including the use of a helicopter and drone units, to determine whether any additional occupants had been ejected from the vehicle. Authorities said no other individuals were located during the search.
Online comments referenced a possible passenger named Kyle, whom witnesses reportedly rushed to the emergency room in worse condition. Police said they were unable to confirm the presence of any additional occupants at the scene.
Officials stated the crash occurred during a street racing incident. Police reported that multiple vehicles fled the area as officers arrived at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Seal Beach Police Department.
