[01-18-2026] Fresno County, CA – Man Killed in Pickup and Semi-Truck Crash on Clovis Avenue Near Highway 99

A man was killed after the pickup truck he was driving collided with a semi-truck on Clovis Avenue near Highway 99 in Fresno County on Sunday morning, January 18, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. when a semi-truck traveling northbound on Clovis Avenue attempted to make a turn near Golden State Boulevard. At the same time, a pickup truck traveling southbound on Golden State Boulevard collided with the semi. CHP said visibility in the area was limited due to dense fog.

The impact caused the pickup truck cab to become lodged beneath the semi-trailer, and both the truck and trailer caught fire, sending black smoke into the air. The driver of the pickup truck died from his injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
