Multiple people were injured in a fiery crash involving two vehicles and a big rig in Fresno County on Tuesday morning, September 9, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 9:15 a.m. on northbound Highway 99 near Herndon Avenue.
The vehicles involved in the collision were a car, a truck, and a big rig with a trailer impacted by fire. CHP stated that the crash occurred after traffic had already backed up from a prior incident further north in Madera County. The big rig had stopped due to the congestion, and the other two vehicles collided with the rear of the rig, causing a fire that spread to all three vehicles.
Authorities reported that drivers using seatbelts likely avoided more serious injuries. CHP continues to investigate the cause of the collision.
