A man is dead after being struck by a car in Oildale, Kern County, on Wednesday morning, November 13, 2024.
The crash occurred around 5:47 a.m. when a Toyota traveling westbound on China Grade Loop, near Carrere Street, hit a man who had walked outside of a crosswalk directly into the vehicle’s path.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota is cooperating with the California Highway Patrol, which is investigating the cause of the incident.
