A 45-year-old driver, identified as Levi F. of Las Vegas, Nevada, was killed and three passengers were injured in an off-road crash in Dumont Dunes, San Bernardino County, on Sunday afternoon, November 10, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of an accident in the Dumont Dunes off-highway vehicle area unincorporated.
The driver was driving a 2020 Jeep Gladiator northbound in the area when he lost control of the vehicle. The Jeep veered off a steep embankment, striking the ground before overturning onto its roof.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash. Three passengers, including a 41-year-old woman and two juveniles, aged 8 and 7, were treated for minor injuries and transported to Sunrise Medical Center in Las Vegas.
CHP is investigating the cause of the crash, and authorities do not suspect alcohol or drugs were involved.
