[10-29-2025] Pedestrian Struck in Hit-and-Run Collision Near Alturas Road and Aviation RoadAn adult male was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash near Alturas Road and Aviation Road in San Diego County, on Wednesday afternoon, October 29, 2025.

According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the collision was reported at approximately 4:44 p.m. 

Witnesses reported the suspect vehicle as a white SUV or sedan, possibly a Tacoma, Chevrolet Tahoe, or Suburban, driven by a heavy-set Hispanic woman. The driver did not stop after striking the pedestrian. Investigators noted that the front end of the vehicle likely sustained damage.

The injured pedestrian was treated at the scene and then transported by ambulance to meet a Mercy Air helicopter near North County Fire Station 1 on Ivy Street around 5 p.m. His condition was not immediately released.

Authorities are investigating the incident as a death investigation rather than a traffic collision, as the deceased party, a 37-year-old male, was found.

No further details were immediately available.
