Two drivers sustained injuries in a DUI head-on collision west of Napa on Monday night, October 28, 2024.
The California Highway Patrol received reports of the crash on Old Sonoma Road, south of Congress Valley Road, around 10:50 p.m.
According to CHP Officer Marc Renspurger, a 2000 Volvo S70 sedan driven by 22-year-old Ganesh S. was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed when it crossed over double yellow lines and collided head-on with a 2018 Honda HRV driven by a 56-year-old man.
Both drivers sustained moderate to major injuries and were transported to Queen of the Valley Medical Center for treatment.
The Volvo driver was investigated and subsequently arrested on suspicion of felony DUI causing bodily injury, while the Honda driver, who was not under the influence, was admitted for further treatment.
Ganesh S. was undergoing medical treatment before being cleared for incarceration. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
