A bicyclist was fatally struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident in Ceres on Friday morning, August 23, 2024.
According to the Ceres Police Department, the incident occurred around 11:10 a.m. on the Pine Street overpass.
Officers arrived at the scene and found the bicyclist in critical condition. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver, described as an older man in a black Jeep Wrangler, fled the scene. On Saturday morning, Ceres Police pulled over a 73-year-old man in a Jeep matching the description and arrested him as a suspect in the hit-and-run.
