[08-19-2026] Fresno County, CA – One Killed, Another Seriously Injured in Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 41

One driver died, and another suffered major injuries in a wrong-way head-on crash on Highway 41 in Fresno County early Wednesday morning, August 19, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 1:15 a.m. on Highway 41 near Elkhorn Avenue.

CHP said a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 41 when it collided head-on with a white Ford F-150.

The Silverado driver, who CHP suspected of driving under the influence, was reportedly not wearing a seat belt. The driver sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

The driver of the Ford F-150 also suffered major injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The CHP continues to investigate the fatal crash.
