A 30-year-old man was struck and killed after a suspected DUI and hit-and-run crash involving two vehicles in Fresno early Friday morning, August 16, 2024.
According to the Fresno Police Department, the incident occurred at midnight at the intersection of Belmont Avenue and Mariposa Street.
Officers responded to the collision and found the man had been struck by an RV and another vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities stated that the RV was traveling west on Belmont Avenue when it collided with the pedestrian, who had stepped out into the road. Shortly after, a sedan also struck the pedestrian and fled the scene.
Police are investigating a possible DUI involving the driver of the RV and a possible hit-and-run involving the driver of the sedan.
