At least two people were injured after a seven-vehicle pileup in south Los Angeles early Saturday morning, August 3, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the massive traffic accident happened around 3:13 a.m. on the eastbound 10 Freeway in the West Adams neighborhood.
CHP reported that the pileup started when a blue Dodge Challenger and a gray Infiniti collided. Five more vehicles then crashed into the first two and each other. Two of the seven cars involved were said to have overturned due to the crash.
At least two people were sent to the hospital after sustaining moderate injuries. Currently, no other injuries were reported. None of the people involved were identified yet.
The official cause of the collision is still unknown. Driver impairment and speeding are being investigated as possible factors.
Authorities will provide further information as soon as it becomes available. Investigations are underway.
