[06-17-2026] Fresno County, CA – E-Bike Rider Critically Injured in Collision With Vehicle at Palm and Shields Ave.

A man riding an electric bicycle was critically injured following a collision with a vehicle in Fresno on Wednesday evening, June 17, 2026.

According to Fresno police, officers responded to the incident at around 6:50 p.m. to the intersection of Palm and Shields avenues. Upon arrival, they found an older man unconscious but breathing in the roadway.

Emergency crews transported the bicyclist to Community Regional Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.

Authorities reported that the rider was traveling southbound on Palm Avenue against traffic and entered the intersection on a red light before colliding with an eastbound vehicle with a green light. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Based on initial statements from witnesses and the driver, police indicated the bicyclist appears to be at fault.

The crash remains under investigation.
