A 54-year-old woman riding an electric bicycle was seriously injured in a crash with a vehicle in San Diego on Saturday afternoon, June 14, 2025.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision occurred around 12:40 p.m. as the rider was heading northbound on Fairmount Avenue near the Montezuma Road merge in the Talmadge neighborhood.
Authorities said the rider exited the marked bicycle lane early, entered the adjacent lane, and struck the driver’s side mirror of a vehicle driven by a 66-year-old man.
The woman was transported to a hospital and treated for a fractured hip and wrist. Her identity has not been released.
Police stated that alcohol was not a factor in the collision. The incident remains under investigation.
