A 9-year-old boy was injured after being struck by a vehicle in central Fresno on Wednesday morning, May 22, 2024.
According to the Fresno Police Department, the collision happened around 7:30 a.m. at Orchard and Michigan Avenue in front of Birney Elementary.
Authorities stated that a 9-year-old victim was being dropped off at school when the incident happened. The boy was reportedly running across the street and then was hit by an unspecified vehicle. He suffered a broken leg and was transported to the hospital for immediate medical treatment.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Alcohol or drugs do not appear as factors in the collision. At this time, the condition of the victim is unclear.
