A 28-year-old Kingsburg man was killed following a two-vehicle crash in southern Fresno County on Thursday morning, May 14, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Academy Avenue north of Dinuba Avenue.
Authorities stated that a Toyota Corolla traveling northbound on Academy Avenue drifted onto the dirt shoulder, the cause of which is still under investigation. The driver overcorrected to the left, causing the vehicle to cross into the southbound lanes and into the path of a GMC Denali. The GMC struck the Toyota on the right side.
Emergency responders performed CPR on the Toyota driver before transporting him to Adventist Health Selma, where he was pronounced dead. The Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Alex L., 28, of Kingsburg.
The driver of the GMC sustained minor injuries. A juvenile passenger in the GMC was also transported to a hospital, though their condition has not been released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
