[03-24-2026] Stanislaus County, CA – 80-Year-Old Woman Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash Near Denair

An 80-year-old woman died following a two-vehicle crash at a rural intersection near Denair, Stanislaus County, on Tuesday evening, March 24, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 5:30 p.m. at Gratton Road and East Avenue. Emergency crews arrived to find a Chevrolet pickup and a Honda sedan with major damage.

The driver of the Honda, 76-year-old Jose R. of Delhi, was taken to Memorial Medical Center with major injuries. His 80-year-old passenger, also from Delhi, was transported to Doctors Medical Center, where she later died.

The 16-year-old driver of the Chevrolet, from El Dorado Hills, suffered minor injuries but was not hospitalized. A 77-year-old male passenger in the pickup was uninjured.

Investigators said the teen driver failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign, resulting in a broadside crash with the Honda.

All occupants were wearing seat belts, and drugs or alcohol do not appear to have been factors. 

The crash remains under investigation.
