A 49-year-old man from Las Vegas died in a crash near Coalinga in Fresno County, early Sunday morning, March 22, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the collision at around 3:00 a.m. at the intersection of Interstate 5 and Highway 33.
The man was driving a gray Nissan southbound on I-5 when he veered off the road and collided with a Toyota Prius that was stopped on the right shoulder.
The impact caused the Nissan to spin out into the number one lane of the interstate, where it was struck by another vehicle.
The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene, while no other injuries were reported.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
