[02-23-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Pedestrian Killed in Crash Involving Big Rig on 101 Freeway Near Calabasas-Agoura Hills

A pedestrian was killed in a crash involving a big rig on the eastbound Ventura 101 Freeway in the Calabasas-Agoura Hills area of western Los Angeles County on Monday morning, February 23, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported at 5:57 a.m. just west of Lost Hills Road. 

Los Angeles County Fire Department crews responded to the scene along with CHP officers, but the pedestrian was pronounced dead.

All eastbound lanes of the freeway were closed following the crash. One lane reopened at approximately 6:45 a.m. as authorities continued their investigation.
