[01-23-2026] Contra Costa County, CA – Teen Girl Killed in Hit-and-Run Collision on L St. in Antioch

A 17-year-old girl was found dead early Friday morning on L Street between West 18th and West 10th streets in Antioch on January 23, 2026.

According to Antioch police, the victim was discovered around 3:33 a.m. on the side of the roadway with multiple injuries near the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds. 

Authorities initially investigated the death as suspicious, but an autopsy later determined the injuries were consistent with a hit-and-run collision. The case is now being handled by the department’s Traffic Safety Unit.

Police identified the victim as Jeana F. of Antioch. Investigators have not released details about why she was in the area at the time, or about the vehicle or driver involved.

The investigation remains ongoing.
