[01-01-2025] Ventura County, CA – Several People Injured, One Critically After Multi-Vehicle DUI Crash in Oxnard

[01-01-2025] Several People Injured, One Critically After Multi-Vehicle DUI Crash in OxnardA New Year’s Day collision involving three pickup trucks in Oxnard left a 56-year-old man in critical condition and injured several others on Wednesday afternoon, January 1, 2025.

The Oxnard Police Department reported that the crash occurred around 2:10 p.m. at the intersection of Wooley Road and Commercial Avenue.

A 2008 Ford F-350, a 2002 Ford Ranger, and a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado all sustained major damage. The Ford F-350 was found in the middle of the intersection, while the other two trucks were on opposite sides of the crossing.

Six people were transported to local hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to critical. The critically injured man was the driver of the Ford Ranger.

Investigators determined that the driver of the Ford F-350, a 52-year-old Oxnard man, ran a red light at the intersection while traveling westbound on Wooley Road. The two other pickup trucks, which had the right of way, were crossing the intersection when the F-350 struck them.

The F-350 driver, who was not injured, remained at the scene and was later arrested on suspicion of felony DUI causing injury. Authorities also suspect speed played a role in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
