A crash involving two SUVs slowed traffic on Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo on Wednesday evening, August 20, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 4:11 p.m. on the northbound side of Highway 101 near the base of the Cuesta Grade.

Authorities said the crash involved a blue Mercedes SUV and a brown Honda CR-V. A tow truck was requested shortly after the incident was reported.

The crash backed up traffic northbound from near Prado Road to Monterey Street, according to Caltrans cameras. CHP confirmed the scene was cleared at about 4:50 p.m., though traffic remained slow through the area.

Authorities continue to investigate the collision.
