[08-15-2025] Motorcyclist Killed in Collision with Tow Truck in Huntington BeachA 37-year-old motorcyclist died after colliding with a tow truck in Huntington Beach on Friday afternoon, August 15, 2025.

According to the Huntington Beach Police Department, the crash occurred around 3:00 p.m. near McFadden Avenue and Springdale Street.

The incident involved a blue Yamaha R1 motorcycle and a yellow Ford tow truck. Officers said the motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. His identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.

Police identified the tow truck driver as a 60-year-old man from Victorville, who was not injured and remained cooperative with investigators.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the tow truck was stopped on McFadden Avenue, west of Springdale Street, when the Yamaha struck it from behind.

Authorities said it is not yet clear whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. The Huntington Beach Police Department’s Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team is handling the investigation.
