A woman died after being struck by a car on Interstate 280 in San Jose early Sunday morning, August 10, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded at 2:45 a.m. to a report of a pedestrian collision on southbound I-280 near Highway 87.
First responders found the woman with major injuries. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 3:26 a.m.
The incident was the first of two fatal pedestrian crashes in San Jose on Sunday. Later that night, another pedestrian died following a vehicle collision at South King Road and Aldrich Way.
The crash on I-280 remains under investigation.
