[07-23-2025] Man Critically Injured After Falling from Vehicle in VictorvilleA man was critically injured after falling from a moving vehicle in Victorville on Wednesday night, July 23, 2025. 

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred around 7:45 p.m. on Sitting Bull Street near Fifth Avenue. 

Authorities said 25-year-old Austin H. of Victorville and an adult male friend had returned to Austins’ residence after visiting a local bar earlier in the evening.

While at the residence, the victim reportedly jumped onto Austin’ s vehicle and held on as Austin began to drive. At some point, the man fell from the vehicle and suffered major injuries.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and requested an air ambulance due to the severity of the victim’s condition. He was initially transported to Victor Valley Global Medical Center before being airlifted to an out-of-area trauma center.

A witness reported seeing the man lying unconscious in the road and observed the driver, later identified as Austin, attempting to drag the injured man. Deputies arrived and detained Austin at the scene.

Austin was arrested and booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and driving under the influence. Sitting Bull Street was closed by Victorville City Public Works around 8:45 p.m. while deputies conducted their investigation.

The incident remains under investigation.
