One person was injured and traffic was severely impacted after a flatbed semitrailer hauling lumber crashed into the center divider on Highway 101 in Santa Rosa on Thursday evening, July 10, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. on the southbound side of Highway 101 near College Avenue. The collision followed an earlier crash near the Highway 12 exit that had caused traffic to come to a stop.
Officials said the driver of the lumber truck was unable to stop in time and swerved into the center divider to avoid a pile-up. The impact caused a load of lumber to spill across both sides of the highway.
A Subaru traveling northbound was hit by debris and crashed into the median. The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The crash and cleanup prompted the closure of two out of three lanes in both directions, leading to significant delays. All lanes were reopened shortly after 10:30 p.m. The CHP is continuing to investigate the incident.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
