A 75-year-old man was fatally struck in a hit-and-run crash while walking in a marked crosswalk in South Los Angeles on Thursday night, July 3, 2025.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the collision occurred around 9:00 p.m. at the intersection of Vermont Avenue and 90th Street.
The victim, identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Gaston M., was crossing Vermont Avenue when he was hit by a small four-door sedan traveling northbound.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect vehicle fled the area and was last seen heading northbound on Vermont Avenue.
The investigation is ongoing.
