[06-26-2025] Los Angeles County, CA – Elderly Man Killed in Hit-And-Run Crash at Vermont Avenue and 90th Street

A man in his 70s was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver while crossing the street in South Los Angeles on Thursday night, June 26, 2025.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. as the victim was walking in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Vermont Avenue and 90th Street.

A small, four-door sedan traveling northbound on Vermont struck the man and then fled the scene, continuing northbound.

Paramedics responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.

LAPD’s South Traffic Division is investigating the fatal hit-and-run.
