[05-17-2025] Seven Injured After DUI Driver Crashes Into Vehicle Returning From LA County Fair in UplandSeven people were injured after an intoxicated driver crashed into their vehicle in Upland on Saturday night, May 17, 2025.

According to the Upland Police Department, the crash occurred around 11:00 p.m. in the area of Benson Avenue and 16th Street. 

The driver of a BMW was traveling northbound on Benson Avenue when they ran a red light and collided with a red Chevy Traverse. The impact caused the Traverse to overturn and land upside down in the intersection.

Authorities confirmed that all seven passengers inside the Traverse sustained injuries, including bone fractures, though none were life-threatening.

The BMW driver was found to be intoxicated and had a suspended license for DUI. The suspect was also on probation for DUI and had an outstanding warrant related to a previous DUI offense. The individual was arrested and booked for felony DUI causing injury.

The crash remains under investigation by the Upland Police Department.
