A 24-year-old man sustained a serious leg injury after crashing his electric mountain bike into a vehicle in San Diego on Wednesday afternoon, May 14, 2025.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 4:50 p.m. on the 9800 block of Camino Ruiz.
The cyclist was riding northbound in the southbound bike lane when he collided with a gray 2021 Hyundai Venue that was making a right turn onto Camino Ruiz.
Authorities reported that the bicyclist was transported to a hospital and treated for a closed fracture to his left femur.
Police stated that driving under the influence was not believed to be a factor. The party at fault has not yet been determined, and the crash remains under investigation.
