Two Bishop residents were killed in a solo-vehicle crash after their vehicle overturned and submerged in Rawson Canal near Buckley Pond outside of Bishop on Monday afternoon, May 5, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the scene at approximately 1:31 p.m. following reports of an overturned vehicle submerged in the canal adjacent to Buckley Pond.
Emergency responders located the vehicle in the water and confirmed that both occupants were deceased. Their identities have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
