A man was struck and killed by a construction van while walking near downtown Los Angeles early Saturday morning, May 10, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the scene at approximately 12:30 a.m. on the San Pedro Street off-ramp of the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway.
The pedestrian was walking near the bottom of the off-ramp when he was hit by the van. Emergency responders arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
There was no immediate description of the vehicle involved. The incident remains under investigation by the CHP.
