[05-07-2025] Riverside County, CA – Construction Worker Injured in Fall From Scaffolding at UC Riverside

[05-07-2025] Construction Worker Injured in Fall From Scaffolding at UC RiversideA construction worker suffered a leg injury after falling from scaffolding atop a building at UC Riverside on Wednesday morning, May 7, 2025.

According to the Riverside Fire Department, the incident was reported at approximately 11:25 a.m. on a four-story structure adjacent to the athletic field off University Avenue. 

Officials said the worker was on temporary support about 15 feet high when he fell, landing on the roof.

Emergency crews, including two engine companies and a truck team, responded and located the injured worker with a moderate leg injury. 

The fire department’s technical rescue team used a rope rescue system and an aerial ladder to lower him from the roof safely.

The worker was transported to Riverside Community Hospital with stable vital signs. His identity has not been released.

The California Occupational Safety & Health Agency is expected to investigate the cause of the fall. No further details about the construction project were provided by the university.
