A crash involving a big rig and a sedan scattered lumber and caused traffic delays on Southworth Road in Valley Springs, Calaveras County, on Friday morning, May 1, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred shortly after 10:30 a.m. at 6038 Southworth Road, between South Burson and Evergreen roads near Highways 12 and 26.
A semi-truck carrying lumber collided with a Ford Fusion sedan, resulting in timber spilling across the roadway.
Officers directed traffic around the scene while a tow crew removed the wreckage and a road crew cleared the lumber. Cleanup operations took approximately two hours.
The CHP is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
