A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Lancaster late Monday night, April 7, 2025.
According to Sheriff’s Detective Ryan Ament, at around 11:40 p.m., deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Lancaster Station were dispatched to the intersection of Avenue J and Hanstead Avenue.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian had been walking northbound across Avenue J outside of a crosswalk when a westbound sedan struck the victim and fled the scene.
Immediately following the first impact, a Toyota Camry traveling westbound on Avenue J also struck the pedestrian while they were in the roadway. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The driver of the Toyota Camry remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The investigation is ongoing.
