[04-06-2025] Ventura County, CA – Motorcyclist Killed After Collision With Stopped Vehicle on Highway 101

[04-06-2025] Motorcyclist Killed After Collision With Stopped Vehicle on Highway 101A 58-year-old Thousand Oaks man died after his motorcycle collided with a stopped vehicle on southbound Highway 101 north of California Street in Ventura, on Sunday afternoon, April 6, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol-Ventura Area, the crash occurred around 2:48 p.m. when a black Volkswagen SUV slowed to a complete stop due to halted traffic.

A white Tesla Model 3 and a black BMW 330e behind the traffic slowdown began to slow down when a black BMW 330i failed to observe the slowdown and rear-ended the other BMW.

The impact caused the BMW 330e to veer southeast, while the BMW 330i struck the center divider, reentered the traffic lanes, and collided with the Tesla Model 3.

The motorcyclist, driving a black Indian Scout motorcycle, approached the incident and was unable to stop before crashing into the rear of the Tesla.

The collision ejected the motorcyclist from his vehicle, and he landed on the roadway. Emergency responders administered medical aid at the scene and transported him to Ventura County Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities shut down all lanes of the highway for two hours before reopening them at 4:48 p.m. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

  • Move your vehicle to the road shoulder if safe; turn on hazard lights.
  • Fully cooperate with law enforcement and stay until cleared to leave.
  • Document the scene and injuries with photos and videos.
  • Seek immediate medical attention.
  • Contact your insurance company and find a personal injury lawyer for legal advice.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
