[03-23-2025] San Bernardino County, CA – 66-Year-Old Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Bear Valley Road in Hesperia

[03-23-2025] 66-Year-Old Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Bear Valley Road in HesperiaA 66-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Bear Valley Road near Bornite Avenue in Hesperia on Sunday night, March 23, 2025.

According to the Hesperia Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 10:25 p.m. Deputies and emergency personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the scene following reports of a pedestrian-involved traffic collision.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2017 Audi A6, driven by a 34-year-old man from Oak Hills, was traveling eastbound in the #1 lane of Bear Valley Road when it struck the pedestrian, who was reportedly crossing from an unknown location near the intersection.

The victim, a Phelan resident, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.

The Hesperia Station Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating the crash. It is currently unknown whether drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.

The investigation is ongoing.
