A young boy was fatally struck by a vehicle while walking home from Atascadero Middle School on Friday afternoon, March 14, 2025.
According to the Atascadero Police Department, authorities received a call about the crash at approximately 2:54 p.m. Unfortunately, the child succumbed to his injuries before officers arrived at the scene.
Bystanders reported that the boy was walking home with a girl who witnessed the crash and immediately called her mother, who then alerted the police. His parents were also present at the scene.
The incident prompted the closure of El Camino Real between Calle Cynthia and San Diego Way as police conducted their investigation.
