[03-13-2025] Woman Sustained Injuries After MTS Bus Runs Over Her Foot in El CerritoA 50-year-old woman sustained multiple foot fractures after being run over by a San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) bus in El Cerrito on Thursday afternoon, March 13, 2025.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 4:54 p.m. in the 6000 block of University Avenue.

Authorities reported that a 63-year-old MTS bus driver was stopped along the south curbline when the woman bent down to pick up a water bottle that had fallen into the street near the bus’s rear right tire.

The victim lost her balance and fell forward. Another person attempted to assist her by pulling her back, but her left foot remained in the street. As the bus moved forward, it ran over her foot, causing multiple fractures and skin loss from the ankle down.

The woman was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
